Variety — Bushwick
146 Wyckoff Ave, Brooklyn NY 11237
Editor's Review
This Bushwick outpost of Variety Coffee (originally founded in Williamsburg in 2008) may well have to be called their flagship location going forward, as the massive, light-filled corner spot houses the burgeoning chain’s roasting operation, in full view in the back of the shop. Built in a former paint store, the room also displays lots of wood and brick, a lovely old bar against one wall, and windows everywhere.
Food options are fairly slim – some nice pastries and cookies to go with your espresso, French press, or cold brew – but that does not stop anyone from whiling away the hours here. This corner of Bushwick is one of the homier areas in the neighborhood, and Variety sits on a pretty old commercial strip in a residential section near the L and M trains. The WiFi is fast, the laptops are out at many of the small tables that dot this large open room, and the others are mostly filled with a young crowd of Brooklyn hipsters. But Variety welcomes all, and if you like good coffee, you owe this place a visit.
