The spoils of specialty coffee choices, dotted across a few small blocks at the top end of Melbourne City are aplenty. With all the favourites within walking distance, Traveller Coffee by Seven Seeds, marked by a neon lit walking boot and underlined by ‘coffee’, should not be walked past.

The small space of an espresso bar echoes and radiates great music outside it’s doors, where a small queue spills onto the alleyway, linking with those already at their coffee. You can drink your espresso or filter on the small steps and get an urban feel for the charm of the old Melbourne Lane and their neighbours. At busy periods, when everything flows, it’s like a small American bar – great times, inside and out. Inside is set up for mainly takeaways, reminiscent of American trail blazers and their RV’s.

The baristas here experiment during the changing seasons with coffee offerings, to have something that stands out from the crowded block, such as actual cold extracted coffee for cold brew rather than batch brew chilled over summer. It’s Seven Seeds coffee, and baristas. Anything milky or black is sure to please, with options of a single origin for espresso and filter profiles oh so well roasted. Also, some tasty bagels.
