Just when you thought the bicycle café concept was overdone, The Velo Cafe refreshes the theme with a rugged twist at its spot on the Southwest Waterfront Wharf—now a swanky shopping complex complete with eateries, music venues, and outdoor lounge spaces.

There is a literal hardware store attached to this bike café, where you can grab a few screwdrivers to go with the cappuccino you just ordered—and yes, there is alcohol here. No cocktails of the aforementioned sort, but local draft and canned craft beer and wine are in abundance at The Velo, perfect for a post-work happy hour on the water.

Trusty Vigilante Coffee Roasters assists in furnishing the local vibes here, providing a light and dark roast for filter brews, along with espresso for a simple milk drink menu. With a spacious interior of big community tables and even a kiosk window for dog walkers and passersby, The Velo aims to please for the masses.
