The Exploding Bakery
Central Station Buildings, 3a Queen St, Exeter EX4 3SB, UK
Editor's Review
Cracking cake and excellent coffee are the highlight of the Exploding Bakery. The working bakery, near Exeter Central station, is a lively environment that has grown since it was founded in 2011. Beans from roasteries such as Crankhouse, Roundhill, Square Mile, James Gourmet, Clifton, and Campbell & Syme are used to craft the coffee.
Make sure you arrive hungry; the menu is small but perfectly formed and includes soup, sourdough toasties, tortillas, sausage rolls, and croissants. Try the Lumberjack cake and you won't be disappointed.
Exploding Bakery has been designed perfectly – there is ample seating inside and out and you can see the bakers doing their thing whilst ordering your coffee or take a look through the glass walls on the outside. If you're looking for somewhere to enjoy coffee and food then Exploding Bakery is most definitely worth a visit.
