The Caféothèque of Paris
52 Rue de l'Hôtel de ville, 75004 Paris, France
Editor's Review
Caféothèque was the first 'third wave' coffee shop in Paris and celebrated ten years of coffee in 2016. The café, on the banks of the Seine and with plenty of seating, roasts in-house and has a daily rotation among its thirty or so available blends and single origins.
There is a limited, light lunch menu: quiche and salads in the summer, supplemented in winter by soups. There are cakes and pastries availabile as well.
Caféothèque is very laid-back, with local artists on show, battered wooden furniture, and lots of plants. With its heritage in Paris' coffee scene, Caféothèque doesn't need to try too hard. The result is a friendly venue that serves a good coffee.
