Télescope
5 Rue Villedo, 75001 Paris, France
Editor's Review
Telescope, which nestles in a quiet back street a stone's throw from the busy tourist area around the Louvre and l'Opera, is a serious coffee shop. The setting is sparse, with white and pale blue walls and floors, and a space dominated by the bar and a splendid Black Eagle machine. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried; this is a place to sit and enjoy your order.
Tables around the wall offer good seating and there are a range of cakes and pastries, as well as breakfast options including eggs, granola and yoghurt, and avocado.
But Telescope is all about the coffee. Having opened in May 2012, it's stayed close to the idea of coffee first, everything else second; for example, laptops are actively discouraged. But, if you want a quiet spot near the sights with really superb coffee, then this is the place for you.
