Light fills the front and back rooms of this plant-filled Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, space – the kind of unique multi-purpose cafe that can really make a residential neighborhood. Coffee fiends and young creatives chat and work on laptops as they sip and nosh – and the menu at Stonefruit goes above and beyond the wide range of coffee drinks (made with Counter Culture coffee): a selection of light breakfast plates is available all day, the lunch menu adds several healthy options, and sweets come in a wide variety of drinks and baked goods – with everything made on-site, including the syrups that power Stonefruit’s specialty drinks (the cayenne-maple latte being a standout).

In the back the plants have taken over: in addition to a long banquet-style table for customers, a full-service flower shop in back keeps the space leafy and bustling. Uncommon and locally made goods (such as infused honey and maple syrup) fill sale shelves throughout this wonderful, homey space.
