Soho Grind
19 Beak Street, Soho, W1F 9RP
Editor's Review
Bringing its signature 1990s American diner meets cinema aesthetic to Soho’s bustling Beak Street, Soho Grind is the little sister of popular Shoreditch Grind in Old Street. Although lacking the upstairs recording studio that its Shoreditch sibling proudly boasts, the Soho Grind still offers “Coffee Food & Rock n Roll” and all the baristas drip with an “I’m in a band” cool factor. Serving their own coffee and a select range of pastries, stuffed croissants and piadinas (trendy flatbread sandwiches) the Soho Grind lures in tourists, shoppers and anyone else seeking refuge from the cultural maze of Soho.
Follow the bold neon sign proclaiming “French lessons given downstairs” to additional basement seating and a “secret speakeasy”. But, shh, don’t tell anyone it’s behind a sliding wooden panel and they serve espresso martinis…
