Rooster Coffee House (Jarvis Street)
568 Jarvis St, Toronto, ON M4Y 0C1, Canada
Editor's Review
The Rooster Coffee locations around Toronto are known for the extremely comfortable and lovely atmospheres that they create in their cafés. They are furnished and designed in a way to give a living room feel and a home-like esthetic. Their Jarvis Street location is perhaps a slight departure from their usual style—maybe best described as Rooster all grown up.
A dark colour palate, warm wood accents, and a cozy seating layout create that iconic Rooster warmth, but where the café chain might have otherwise hung vintage chandeliers, Rooster has instead chosen a light installation above the bar featuring hanging spheres varying in size. It is an artistic element that fits the space, and adding dimension that's echoed in the cafe's upper seating. Hexagonal penny tiles line the bottom border of the room and charmingly spell out “Hello” and “Goodbye” at the front door to warmly acknowledge the café's loyal following. It's is exciting to see this established company continue to evolve and create beautiful spaces in the city.
