Reynards
80 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Editor's Review
Be sure to bring someone special with you to get boozy, wired, or both at this swanky restaurant, which will definitely dim the lights and break out the votive candles once the sun sets. If you're here during the day, you'll enjoy the natural sunlight pouring through the windows. Situated in the shabby-elegant lobby of the uber posh Wythe Hotel is Reynards, a restaurant owned by the mighty Andrew Tarlow (of Greenpoint's Achilles Heel and other fine dining NYC establishments) with coffee service worth lingering over.
Reynards offers a civilized experience for those seeking a slightly broader menu with their morning (or all-day) cup. Sit at the table or the bar to enjoy a well-prepared coffee from George Howell as espresso, drip, or cold brew while you take turns gazing fixedly at the ceramic tiled floors and high beam wooden ceilings. Being part of the Wythe Hotel also means taking advantage of the restaurant's drool-worthy menu, an affair of woodfired meats, upscale appetizers, and curated wines. However, if puffer's petite oysters or lobster mushroom don't sound like your kind of coffee pairing, take advantage of the noteworthy morning buns and housemade pastries. Don't bother tipping here; gratuity is included in the price.
