Redemption Roasters (Lamb's Conduit)
84b Lamb's Conduit Street, Bloomsbury, WC1N 3LR
Editor's Review
Redemption Roasters catch the eye with their fine coffee roasted in HMP Aylesbury but there’s more to the story than that. Aware that prisoners are more likely to reoffend if they lack a skill or a job, the company began training young offenders in Aylesbury prison, offering barista training to competition standard as well as training in roasting. There’s no compromise on quality: Harry Graham, head roaster, oversees every batch.
The Bloomsbury café is well lit, with large windows and a simple, minimal design dominated by the sleek Slayer espresso machine. Shelves offer a range of brewing gear alongside Redemption Roasters’ beans with their stylish packaging. Coffees, whether espresso based or filter are served on wooden trays on elegant furniture. As well as coffee, you can get karma cola, brunch, cakes, and savoury treats. Milk for your flat whites and such is from the impressive Estate Dairy.
Lambs Conduit Street is just around the corner from the legendary Espresso Room (opened by its original owner in 2009) and now also served by Knockbox Coffee and Redemption Rosters, increasing the local coffee options dramatically. Redemption Roasters will likely be a favourite spot for many local coffee drinkers as well as drawing those visiting the area
