A perhaps unlikely, high-end cafe located steps from the United Nations, Pennylane offers sophisticated coffees to a diverse and bustling crowd within their ground-level-concrete-modern cafe space. The cafe aims to provide a wonderfully overwhelming amount of options, from the stacked yet well-curated shelves of culinary books and artisanal treats to craft beers and filling, hearty, and healthy made-to-order toasts. Oh, and try not to melt when you munch on a moist, chewy housemade chocolate chip cookie.

With plentiful seating, pull up a laptop and a coffee from the rotating set of roasters to the large common table, or enjoy a cup of tea or espresso as you gaze across the spacious blond wood bar; the La Marzocco Strada gleams on this counter space. Massive glass doors provide plentiful natural lighting, and also encourage a spacious entryway, remaining open whenever weather permits. Overall, Pennylane makes for an impressive sight on this otherwise unsuspecting block of Midtown.
