Mazarine Coffee
720 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94102, USA
Editor's Review
Located on the main shopping strip of downtown San Francisco, Mazarine provides a casual space away from the daily hassle. The cafe is named after Bibliothèque Mazarine in France, the oldest public library in the world. You’ll find acknowledgments of the name in the aqua bookshelf motif alongside the long wall, the bathroom wallpaper, and the brass sconces that hover over the tables.
Mazarine’s drinks menu is in constant rotation. The pour-over coffee, drip coffee, and espressos rotate at a minimum of three guest roasters at a time. Meanwhile, the housemade sodas and teas are refreshed with the seasons. For food, Mazarine boasts a standard cafe fare of pastries, but also adds on a hearty kitchen menu that includes toast, salads, and sandwiches. Their toast menu rotates and features seasonal ingredients, often topping them off with avocado or sous vide eggs.
You’ll find a mix of customers here, from smartly dressed business people to tourists to the tech workers. Sitting on their patio and sipping a nitro cold brew offers you an excellent people watching opportunity.
