The occasional rumble of trains should not put you off visiting Mancoco, a coffee shop and roastery based just around the corner from (and kind of under) Deansgate Station. Coffee is roasted in-house and you can watch the process, should you be interested – if not, grab one of three or four regularly offered blends, with plenty more to buy bagged up for consumption at home.

The venue itself offers cakes and pastries in a snug, cosy environment, with enough seating for around ten to twelve people at shared tables. It's a low-key, but friendly atmosphere, and a genuinely calm place to drop in to and get away from things for a little while.
