Lomond Coffee
Arch 7, 4 Market Yard, Deptford, London SE8 4BX
Editor's Review
We came across Lomond Coffee by accident on a trip to Deptford. A delightful accident. Sisters Hayley and Linzi collaborated in this business, originally in Lomond Grove in Peckham. Hayley had run a successful catering business and Linzi (after discovering the coffee scene in Melbourne) trained as a coffee roaster at the London School of Coffee with Morten Munchow. She roasts coffee inside the delightful café, built into a railway arch. Hayley and Linzi emphasise local artisan products. Linzi’s coffee is highy recommended whether espresso or filter.
Lomond’s entire food menu (bar their sourdough bread and doughnuts which are supplied by St John) is made in house. Their menu consists of simple classics, offering breakfast, brunch and lunch options with an extended weekend menu. Their One Pan Full English is firm favourite with the locals! Lomond also offer a selection of cakes and baked goods that are all homemade.
Milk is from The Estate Dairy, soy from Bonsoy and hot chocolate is from Mork using their 70% Dark Hot Chocolate, which is made using coconut blossom sugar. The St John bread is so popular that Lomond also sell sourdough loaves on the weekend. These days it is rare to see a new, independent family run cafe and Lomond is a great addition to the London scene.
