Linea Caffe
3417 18th St, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA
Editor's Review
Andrew Barnett, owner and roaster at Linea Caffe, is well known in the San Francisco coffee scene. Linea is first named after the Italian word for “line,” after the company’s mission to connect those who drink coffee and those who grow it. It’s also the model of Barnett’s first La Marzocco espresso machine of course, now used in the cafe. After selling his Ecco Caffè to Intelligentsia, Barnett opened the diminutive Linea in 2013 when large cafés were the new normal.
Its cozy 292-square-foot space features a small bench inside and some patio tables. Mainly, though, coffee is taken on the go. Linea offers a tailored menu of espresso drinks, Song Tea oolongs, and a selection of cold brews. Espressos are served in Heath Ceramic demitasses and often sipped while standing, European-style.
