Just around the way from Union Square is Joe 13th Street, another miracle of the small local chain's ability to make a ton of things happen in not a ton of space (Look up! There's an office above the coffee bar!) with their trademark consistency.

Roasting beans just across the river in Brooklyn, Joe offerings include a standard rotation single origins, year-round blends, and quality teas from Chicago-based Kilogram. Enjoy pastries here from Underwest Donuts, cookies from Ovenly, and seasonal selections both sweet and savory from Joe's restaurant partners, Union Square Events. There aren't a lot of seats here, but luckily the lack of WiFi in this student-abundant area keeps folks flowing through.
