Half Cup
100-102 Judd St, Kings Cross, London WC1H 9NT, UK
Editor's Review
You have entered University College London territory, so don’t be surprised to find Half Cup buzzing with students, particularly throughout the working week. Although it’s often fairly noisy with a heady mix of undergraduate enthusiasm and stress, the café is set up to accommodate a working environment; plenty of table space surrounds a communal bench seating in the middle, the wifi is speedy, and sockets abound. Nude Espresso supplies the coffee (60% Brazil, 40% Guatemala) which is served in the expected, yet unrestrained, styles. With a generous choice of alternative milks, and the option to have all coffees and teas iced, you’re bound to find a drink to fit any specific needs (including alcoholic beverages post-midday). The food options are similarly wide-ranging, with a tempting brunch menu to last you through the day.
Just a five-minute walk from King’s Cross St. Pancras, halfway between the British Library and the British Museum, it is the perfect place for a social break – whether squeezing in a caffeine hit between lectures, or just taking a pause between the sights of WC1.
