Gregorys Coffee — Eighth Avenue
520 8th Ave, New York, NY 10018, USA
Editor's Review
Founded in 2006 by Gregory Zamfotis, the Gregorys Coffee chain has been storming Manhattan (and Brooklyn, and Jersey City, and now DC) for several years, and there are currently more than two dozen locations in the NYC area. They have managed to create a somewhat remarkable system for rolling out new locations without sacrificing quality, and now with a huge roastery in Long Island City, the ubiquitous Gregorys logo – coffee cups where Gregory's eyeglasses should be – might be unstoppable.
They are known for their espresso, AeroPress coffee, and delicious cold brew, as well as a full menu that includes smoothies, cold pressed juices, parfaits, pastries, and sandwiches. And while it can be hard to tell the various outlets apart, there is an attention to detail, quality, and presentation throughout the chain that is undeniable. This location, on 8th Avenue between Penn Station and Port Authority, is always busy with a rush of commuters, office workers, tourists, and really anyone who likes good coffee!
