It's not often a café—especially in Midtown—completely breaks form, but it's happened at Felix: a high-concept, haûte-design café that looks like it somehow dropped out of New Orleans, Paris, Milan, and Miami, and landed smack onto Park Avenue South. 

The outfit roasts its own—mysteriously in Houston—and serves an espresso-focused menu alongside elaborate, seasonally rotating signature drinks like a Deconstructed Espresso Tonic with hibiscus, Meyer lemon, Campari, and even a spritz of rosewater. Pastries are provided by LES wünderkind Supermoon Bakehouse, to be joined soon by additional treats & savories. 

It's the space here that is truly the star of the show; from a front room that takes in a surprising amount of daylight for this neighborhood to a cozy back area—and you're encouraged to settle in with a laptop or a good book and take full advantage. A stunning space that marks a rising star in this unlikely part of the city.
