Dweebs
1434 Dekalb Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237, USA
Editor's Review
In a neighborhood where everything is altogether too cool, unabashedly geeky world of Dweeb's is a welcome relief. It's a place built for hanging out in earnest—from smaller tables to window seating that, in nice weather, is delightfully open-air, to a large common table stacked with games—this isn't one of those no-WiFi, hustle you out on the heels of your espresso places. In fact, there's even a networked printer should you need to make this space your actual "coffice".
Despite being welcoming to the laptop set, the vibe here is still earthy and arty. Plants and earthenware dot the room, while the rear wall acts as a silent projector screen, adding another visual dimension to the experience. Coffee here comes from Brooklyn's Spectrum, backed by pastries from Bushwick bakery L'impremerie and a selection of small housemade food items like sammies and toasts, overnight oatmeal, and a banana tahini bagel. Milk alternatives inlcude oat. Sometimes ceramics, or ripe avocados are for sale. You get the idea.
Whether you're into coffee with a side of strategy games and ASCII art or just a chill neighborhood hangout spot, Dweebs should be just the ticket.
