Dark Horse’s Riverside shop is located just down the road from where the company got its start. That original café is no longer open, but they were able to bring the spirit of those beginnings into this fresh and expansive space. With this shop being inside a relatively new condo building, the design is very clean and modern. To soften it up and warm the space, Dark Horse brought important elements from the original location with items such as the large communal table at the front window. This idea of a shared, common seating space to encourage social interaction is clearly a priority of the owners as another long wooden table runs down the center of the room and mirrors the coffee bar. Lighting is another obvious artistic expression with a huge spherical installation filling the space of the high front ceiling and orange water droplet overhanging lights running the length of the bar seating. 

This is certainly proof of how far Dark Horse has come and such a wonderful way to represent the journey they have taken from their humble beginnings just a few steps away.
