Daily Press — Bed-Stuy
505 Franklin Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11238
Editor's Review
Daily Press was one of the first specialty coffee shops to make the foray into Bed-Stuy back in 2011, before there was a shi-shi cafe every few blocks trying to throw its hat in the ring of attracting the growing waves of gentrifiers here seeking fancy cups of coffee. To its credit, Daily Press has always aimed to serve the neighborhood, with an eye on local history and an unpretentious vibe.
The antique-chic inside space can get crowded with folks working and meeting up, but in fair weather the spacious, all-season heated backyard provides a fine respite from the just-off-of-Fulton-Street chaos. Enjoy a coffee beverage (including seasonal signature drinks) from the house roaster or a rotating guest – typically a small Brooklyn roaster – along with quality treats like Four and Twenty Blackbirds pie slices and delicious breakfast burritos. Beer and wine are also available, and there's even a happy hour from 4-7pm.
