Culture Espresso — 38th & 6th
72 West 38th St., New York, NY 10018
Editor's Review
Culture Espresso has been quietly staking their claim as the go-to spot for coffee fanatics in the formerly desolate area south of Times Square. This location, their first, is one of three Culture cafes in the area, two blocks away from the charming Bryant Park. Though the neighborhood can be a busy throng of humanity, Culture usually feels like a quiet escape.
The vibe is very Brooklyn, with low-key, classy but funky design, cool music, and a young, hip, but very knowledgeable and friendly staff serving great coffee, these days from Heart Coffee Roasters, and some occasional other roast options. They are also known for truly great homemade chocolate chip and oatmeal cranberry cookies warm out of the oven, and they feature a nice selection from other premium bakeries like Ceci-Cela, Blue Sky Bakery, Ovenly (including gluten free options), Dough Doughnuts, Corner Café, and Magpies.
The coffee here is wonderful and the space is an oasis, a casual relaxed escape in the midst of midtown craziness. Pull up a stool and enjoy yourself.
