Coffeeology
4 The Square, London TW9 1DZ, UK
Editor's Review
Coffeeology is an experiment by Luca Marinoni, and it has quickly turned into a successful one. Housed in a high-ceilinged Victorian building in Richmond, the inside of the café is almost completely decked out in forest green paint and forest green tiles, which draws even more attention to the bright yellow La Marzocco coffee machine in the middle of the room.
And the focus is certainly on the coffee. As well as said coffee machine, they use the common methods (filter, drip coffee) but also flex their skills by using lesser known techniques, such as aeropress - basically drip coffee, but with force. The drinks list is therefore extensive, but should you feel overwhelmed, the enthusiastic staff are always keen to explain the differences, add a personal touch, and help you find your perfect cup. Food is available, but the options (soup, pastries) are secondary to the main event: coffee.
