Caravan (City)
22 Bloomberg Arcade, London EC4N 8AR, UK
Editor's Review
Following King’s Cross, Exmouth Market and Bankside, the fourth Caravan to open in London has settled on the corner of Cannon Street and Walbrook, just across the way from Cannon Street Station. However, even though it is undoubtedly convenient for pit stops and lunch breaks, it is not simply a hub for city businessmen. Like much of The City, the multi-terraced building is sleek, modern, spacious, and while sweeping curved windows help it to be a light and lively café during the day, it seamlessly becomes a sultry restaurant and bar towards the evening (although you can still just pop in for a caffeine hit until late).
As you would expect from an offshoot of an established roastery, the coffee is failsafe good quality – rich, smooth and strong. You can smell the alluring aroma waft past regardless of where you sit in the vast space. They don’t take bookings for brunch on weekends though so, regardless of the generous seating, get here early to avoid disappointment.
