Caffe Vita
124 Ludlow St, New York, NY 10002, USA
Editor's Review
Caffe Vita has a major presence in Seattle with their sturdy brew, as well as cafes in several other west coast locations. And while they are fairly new to the east coast, with a major roasting operation and café now operating in Bushwick, plus this cool little LES spot, it appears that they plan on putting down some roots here. Serving espresso, Japanese slow drip coffee, cold brew and French press, there are also a few pastries from Colson, vegan pumpkin and banana bread from East Village haunt ChickaLicious, and a couple of other treats as well, including some artisanal sodas and kombucha.
The vibe at Caffe Vita is very stylish and slick, sort of a modern take on 1950s-era Italian cool, lots of black lacquer and bright neon, and the presentation is like at a busy Roman espresso bar – you can stand at a counter for a few minutes while you down your espresso, but after that, it’s back out onto the streets of the Lower East Side.
