Cafe Beit
158 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211, USA
Editor's Review
Cafe Beit, simply put (and literally translated) is a home-like cafe, a comforting break from the busy bustle of Williamsburg's trendy Bedford Avenue. A small storefront paves the way to a DIY-decorated space of drawings hung in the entrance and hallways, while the back door leads to a spacious patio that makes you feel as if you've stepped into someone's own quiet backyard, practically taking you away from New York City and into a calmer state of mind.
Cafe Beit doesn't try to impress with decor – its simple vanilla-painted walls and exposed brick accents speak modestly, and attention is focused on the goods at hand instead. Personal friends and Bushwick roasters Spectrum Coffee provide the mostly single-origin offerings in this space, which are available both on drip or via pour-over. Many options in here are proudly housemade, from the almond and coconut milks to the breakfast and lunch specials, which include simple yet savory items like overnight oats, chia seed pudding and – once again on the home comforts – PB&J sandwiches. Cafe Beit is honest, simple, and a go-to getaway.
