Black Isle Bakery
Linienstraße 54, 10119 Berlin, Germany
Editor's Review
Ruth Barry is the new baker on the block. In cake and bread loving Germany it is not an easy feat to create outstanding products that knock anyone – expat and local alike – off their stool. All the goods are baked in house, every day and directly sold from the display case of the café, as well as a multitude of outlets in Berlin that got hooked as soon as Ruth moved her bakery business and skills from London to Berlin in 2014.
The place itself is remarkably tranquil (maybe because they just opened in August 2017) and you are welcome to enjoy a delicious loose-leaf tea or espresso-based drink while being mesmerised by the beautiful furniture and photography – think of it as half gallery, half cafe. Right behind the super busy Torstrasse, this place is a welcome treat for anyone with exquisite taste.
