Nude Espresso (Hanbury Street)
26 Hanbury Street E1 6QR
Editor's Review
Open since 2008, this classic café has been around to watch the resurgence of nearby Brick Lane and Spitalfields and the developments of the London independent coffee scene. Popular with locals, it housed Nude’s original roaster downstairs, now located directly across the road at number 25. There is plenty of seating here, a good thing as it’s extremely popular with the locals. Espresso - both blends and single origins - is available alongside a range of coffees brewed via v60.
Known especially for their brunch menus, food is prepared fresh each day on site using seasonal and (where possible) locally sourced ingredients. Nude bake their own bread and cakes. Note that the kitchen closes at 2.30 weekdays and 3pm on weekends. Despite its busy nature – sitting here you can feel quite hidden from the bustle of the nearby streets and the level of consistency is good. Enjoy visiting one of the original London Third Wave.
