Broadsheet Coffee Roasters
100 Kirkland St, Cambridge, MA 02138, USA

Editor's Review
The only coffee roaster in Cambridge, Broadsheet opened in 2017 in a well-windowed corner near the Somerville city limit. Owner Aaron MacDougall, a finalist at the US Cup Tasters Championship, shifted into coffee from a previous career as an investment banker. He has lavished attention and resources on the shop, down to installing a multi-step water filtration system to tame Cambridge’s hard water, which runs on a separate system from Boston’s. An ambitious, Middle-Eastern-and-Caucasus-tinged menu prepared in house offers pistachio-chocolate croissants, smoked salmon on crispy potato cakes, and even a creditable Georgian khachapuri, or egg boat. Roasting, with a preference for the light, happens in back on a Loring machine. The house-made cashew milk is commendable. Pick up a hat (mimicking the shop’s pink-neon “COFFEE” sign) and some chocolates from local purveyor Gaté Comme des Filles. And visit Julia Child's butcher, Savenor's, next door.
