Coffee Roaster Introduction: Foundry Coffee Roasters

Best Coffee's roastery guide is a compilation of the very best, tried & tested coffee roasters from around the world. We’ve hand-selected a small collection of amazing coffees for you to sample. Not all coffees are created equal, and not all coffees make it into our shop. So we’re starting a series of articles shining a light on our chosen roasteries to explain why we picked them for your drinking delight.

Foundry Coffee Roasters

Where: Sheffield

Who: A dedicated team of 6: Bisha, Lee, Victoria, Vilma, Eva and Zac.

Since when: 2012

Why:

It's because of their enthusiasm for coffee that we appreciate them. As a coffee business, they are devoted to providing customers with great care and excellent products. The founding members are young, enthusiastic individuals who are thrilled about what they do.

What’s the story:

They are a small independent coffee roastery that has been around since their first space in Nether Edge opened in 2012. The company now has 6 employees at its new roastery and coffee bar based in Cutlery Works in Sheffield.

They spend a lot of time sourcing the best coffee beans from around the world before tasting, measuring, roasting and tweaking to find the best roast profile for each.

Sustainability credentials:

The company spends a great deal of time finding the finest coffee beans worldwide to create a great relationship with its customers. Every year, they taste several hundred lots of coffee to determine what is the top quality.

They help the local S6 Food Bank and have provided thousands of meals for people struggling to buy food in the past few years.

A full range of the company's packaging is fully recyclable or compostable.

Our favourite coffee:

Foundry Coffee Roasters - Bookisa Ethiopia - Filter Coffee Beans - 250g

This is one of the finest coffees from Foundry Coffee Roasters. They source their coffee from the Guji region of Ethiopia, and it's often considered to have a magical taste, and this coffee fits the bill perfectly. This well-balanced coffee tastes of blueberries, violets, lemonade.
