Announcing the Coffee Shop Dashboard
One of the main objectives for Best Coffee Guide is to enable people to find a better cup of coffee wherever they are in the world. It's a long process, but it works, and nothing makes us happier hearing how - in the middle of a tiny country village or during a 2-hour city stopover - people have been able to find independently made specialty coffee.
Related to this - and as a result of people finding good coffee shops - we want the app to support what are often independent or small businesses who are battling against entrenched global coffee chains.
Major city centres are now quite well served with specialty coffee, but regional cities, towns and even villages can have some hidden gems. If we're able to easily make people aware of these places, it can have a positive impact for small businesses.
To that end, we want to enable coffee shop owners/operators to keep their info up to date for Best Coffee app users, share anything interesting, relevant or seasonal and to ultimately see how people are viewing and engaging with their business through the platform.
The first phase of this is the Best Coffee Guide Dashboard which allows owners/operators to manage the key info shown in the app for their shop(s) - as much as we've tried to capture accurate info, we recognise it can get stale and it's a real challenge to stay on top of updates without support from the community. The dashboard also allows managers to provide even more detailed info such as filter brew methods and alternative milk types.
This is starting to roll out now, and we'll be emailing many shops over the coming weeks. If you can't wait and want to try it out now, feel free to drop us a note via hello@bestcoffee.guide.
In the future we'll also be showing coffee shop detail views, number of app users within a radius of your shop, overall and recent ratings and enabling you to share relevant messages with prospective customers directly on the coffee shop detail page.
We're super excited to finally get this Dashboard out in the wild and are looking forward to working more with shop owners to explore how the app can be used to support smaller businesses!
